~Maui Vacation 2012~

This vacation started back in October when my friend Alana and I were daydreaming about relaxing on the beach in Hawaii.  After about a week of browsing hotels online and looking into different islands, we decided to run it by our husbands!  Separately, we slyly brought up the idea to our guys, not really thinking anything would come of it.  But being the amazing husbands they are, they immediately thought a Hawaiian vacation would be awesome and started to make it a reality!  We found a great deal on Priceline.com that bundled our flight and hotel together and one week later we popped open the champagne and booked our Maui Couples Vacation!!!

This was going to be our first time leaving Connor so our emotions (my emotions) were all over the place!  ;)  We were both SO excited leading up to the trip and then the week before I started getting nervous to leave our little guy for 5 days.  Connor was going to stay with his Oma and Papa (my parents) and my concerns were not for his safety or his happiness, because he loves my parents and I knew he would be safe and loved, they were more about me being away from him!  Thankfully, once the actual trip arrived my nerves calmed down and I enjoyed every minute of my time alone with Sean and our friends.  I could have even stayed a few more days! Lol J
The four of us took a limo to LAX on Thursday morning.  We rode in style!!  We arrived in Maui at 2pm and quickly checked into the Westin on Ka’anapali Beach.  From the moment we left we all knew it was going to be an amazing trip.  We were all so excited and thankful to be able to leave our responsibilities at home and relax and enjoy each other.  Dustin wanted to jump into the ocean immediately!  So we put our suits on and hit the beach.  The water was so warm, our hotel was so beautiful…we were in heaven!  And the day kept getting better.  We went and ate amazing food at Cane & Taro (if your ever in Maui, GO THERE!), and then grabbed a cocktail, or 3, at the pool Tiki Bar!!
The next few days were perfect.  We split our time up between the pools, the beach, the bar, great restaurants, did some shopping, and loved being alone together!  It was so fun traveling with another couple.  We got to spend quality time alone and then meet up with our best friends and go snorkeling, or meet for lunch, or just hang out.  Sean and Dustin got to go boogy boarding while Alana and I relaxed on the beach! And while the guys watched the SuperBowl and cheered for the Giants, us girls laid by the pool, soaked in the sun, and went down the waterslides!  The only downfall of our trip was the Luau……it was expensive, cheesy, mediocre food, and terrible drinks….but we laughed our way through it and still got some cute pictures!

My favorite memories from Maui are snorkeling with Sean and seeing a sea turtle swimming right under us, eating crab wontons at Cane & Taro, and the four of us dancing and being silly on the beach at about 2am!  It was so nice to reconnect with Sean and have the time to just cuddle with one another, talk, and catch up on life!  It was 5 amazing days and I am so lucky to have parents who took such great care of our son while we were gone.  I never worried about him and for that I am SO thankful!  They took him to gymnastics, the park, a birthday party, and loved on him a lot.  Although, we were sad to leave Maui we were excited to see Connor and give him his presents!
Just arrived!
